FAD KILLLER OF THE MONTH: KARLA DERAS

FotoFlexer_Photo136I first found out about Karla Deras two years ago when a fellow classmate did a presentation on Karla’s blog, Karla’s Closet. I immediately fell in love with her style of funky feminine and later that day looked at every oufit that she ever posted. Back in 2008, after realizing how she religiously she followed other blogs, Karla got the idea to start her own blog. Within a year her blog had created such a buzz that she got picked by American Apparel to appear in one of their 2009 campaigns, in 2010 her and 3 other style bloggers collaborated with Coach to create limited edition bags, in 2011 she shot a video for Elie Saab Le Parfum and this year she continues to design a jewelry collection with Roman Luxe, ‘Karla Deras x Roman Luxe’ available at Revolve Clothing. What keeps me coming back to her blog is her individuality. Rarely will you see her wearing something that the masses wears. I am always pleasently surprised by how she manages to make her massive collection of vintage pieces look modern, it never gets boring. I urge you to check out her blog from start to finish so that you can see the true definition of a style evolution.
